"I wonder if the 'view all' photo gallery option should also be available in the photo folders, rather than only once you have chosen one picture by its file name?"
Seconded. Would be much more useful in "Photos" folder than via specific Photo.
Other than that, very impressive.
Another convert here :-)

"According to AppStore, the app was submitted in August 14"
Let just hope Apple don't do the dirty and pull it....
/me fingers crossed

Am I missing something or can you not favorite a folder right now?
Posted 4 months ago # -
iPhone App is there, but doesn't work with 3.0.1 :(
Posted 4 months ago # -
Woot! Congrats Dropbox team, app is great. My only gripe... I would prefer folders to be fixed at the top of the list of files, rather than buried within the list in their alphabetical position. Awesome for 1.0 though!

Hmm, any specific reason why it only works with 3.1? I don't have it, and because of certain reasons I can't upgrade either. Why would it require 3.1?

You guys should add Recent Events to the iPhone App
Posted 4 months ago # -
Fantastic!
Posted 4 months ago # -
Wow, 3.1? Was this Apple's doing or the Dropboxers' decision? If the latter, then fail. Seriously guys, there's no reason this app couldn't work with 3.0+.

Congratulations! Great 1st release. Love the streaming ability for mp3 files!
Wish:
1) stream files sequentially or allow using folder as a playlist!2) On ability to send link via email (love the expiration date) Allow emailing from folder level so download of the file to the iPhone is not necessary to email!
Bravo! Bravo! Loving it!

d0h, I hopped right in with the questions and never said congrats.
Good job guys!

I emphatically second Steven C.'s plea for a "Recent Events" display in the iPhone app. If anything for security reasons: It would be like having a camera to monitor your home while you're halfway around the globe away…!
Congratulations!

What happens if you have less space on iPhone than all of your DB-files require?

YAY! Congrats!

Nice! It seem to work well.
Could you tweak the photo upload in that way that the uploaded pictures are saved in a specific folder and not in the root of the dropbox. This would be nice.

Congratulations on finally getting Apple approval!
I have to be honest though and say I'm disappointed in the (lack) of features. I don't know if Apple made you trim (?) some aspects of the app, but it lacks some important features, such as photo zooming/pinching.
I don't really know what I was expecting the app to do, but more than what is on offer, is probably safe to say.
As above, zoom would be a great addition, as would more readable file formats and editing.
As a very happy desktop user, I didn't need to be enticed by the iPhone app, but new customers will need to be. With lack lustre features in the current release, I don't see that happening sadly - which is a massive shame as Dropbox is awesome.
Please don't be too disheartened by my words, but you set a high precedent with your desktop app and I want the accompanying iPhone app to be of the same quality.

Another vote for recent events display.
Posted 4 months ago # -
I also vote on the recent events display. Besides, I'm getting errors on viewing files I mark as favorites - "unable to view file".
Posted 4 months ago # -
Ah, and the feedback button is not working :)
Posted 4 months ago # -
Shame it's 3.1 only :(
Posted 4 months ago # -
Hey folks,
We required 3.1 because of a small but important piece of API missing in 3.0.1. Under 3.0.1 if you record video from within the Dropbox app that video can't be saved to your iPhone Photo Library, which is nice if want the photo library to be affected the way it would have been if you'd you the standard Camera app, or your video upload fails. The API to do this wasn't added until 3.1 although the ability to record video existed (unofficially) from 3.0.
We're currently evaluating a workaround that will preserve this behavior for OS 3.1 users, but will allow OS 3.0 users to use the application too. Look out for it in the upcoming Dropbox for iPhone maintenance release.

Schweet. Thanks, Arash. I can wait a little longer. :>
Posted 4 months ago # -
@Arash: With this next release, will iPhone 3G users be able to record video or just 3GS users?
Posted 4 months ago # -
the 3G doesn't have video capture, so only 3GS ;-)
Posted 4 months ago # -
@Arash Great job to you and the rest of the team!
I'd like to add a vote for favorite folders (which, obviously would include all folder contents, be it files or nested folders). Personally, I don't have specific files on a day to day basis. However, I do have very specific folders I need all the time. So, having those folders available offline is absolutely killer.
Posted 4 months ago # -
Is anyone else getting sync issues? Can there be a separate section in the forums for iPhone problems
Posted 4 months ago # -
@Arash: Gotcha. Thanks for the reply.
I haven't tried the app yet, so I am not sure if it has notifications for new and updated files. But if it doesn't, that would be an awesome feature to have. Push notifications to alert the user of changes to files just like Windows has those tooltip messages in the task bar.

Congrats on the release!
I also noticed (like Natalie N) that you can't zoom in or out with images. Also if there's a large-ish image the Dropbox app doesn't resize it to fit in the window. It's cropped off around the edges. Hopefully these will be fixed in a future update.
(While you're at it please add the ability to zip and email a folder of files. And also add a Recent Activity section. That's especially handt for keeping tabs on shared folders :) ).
