You guys should create an iPhone app. Something that could add the iPhone media as more folders in your account and then also a separate place in the app where you could view what files you have. You could select to update automatically, or to sync with your computer when the phone is plugged in to your computer (b/c). Or maybe you could select individual folders that you wanted sync'd to your iPhone. I'd really like the combine and backup my iPhone notes with dropbox. I know there's a web interface for the iPhone but when I used it, I had to log in everytime i clicked a new tab. I gave up after the third login.

Ah great! Thanks. When is a beta expected? Will you need help with beta testing?

My first time logging in to these forums and did so specifically to pose this idea. You guys are f-in awesome. Dropbox is a game changing app for me and I think an iPhone app (even if it only provided local iPhone access to files with sync under WiFi) would seal the deal. I can't begin to tell you how useful and perfectly executed Dropbox is. If you guys could take what is good from the "AirSharing" app that would be perfect.
Thanks for the great work.

I'm a musician. I'd like to be able to upload my songs' tracks to my Dropbox and then listen to them on my iPhone. I'd like to be able to tap one of my tracks, and then share it with another person by emailing them a public link to the file.
This would be so wonderful. There's probably already something like this. If it's out there, I'll find it. :)

Hey, Matt,
Unless I'm misunderstanding, I think you can already do both of those things from the Dropbox IPhone web interface at www.getdropbox.com/iphone

So if there are plans for an iPhone app... Are there plans for pricing?

Great idea an iPhone App. The Web interface is cool but too slow... It would be fantastic to have an interation with MobileFiles.

Oh, this app will support iPod Touch, too, right? I have a friend who'd probably love that.

Also looking forward for an iPhone / iPod Touch App. :)

Count me in too.

yup, it'll likely work on the touch, too :-).

What would be nice in the iphone page is a send/share button.

Mark S., have you heard of Evernote?

Web interface is clunky and slow. Would be more so on an iPhone. Would like a native interface in addition. - JH

Thanks Aston. You're right. I'd still like an iPhone app, though. Hah.

iPhone app would rock my phone :-)

Sign me up. A native App is one of the only things missing from Dropbox.

I just got dropbox and this is the first thing that I looked for! An iPhone app would make the service even better, and Im glad you guys are taking advantage of that.

I want DropBox Application for iPhone.
Because I want to use DropBox under offline. Please!

The reason that I would really want a native iPhone app is for this feature: when you take pics using your iPhone, they are automatically added to your Dropbox Photos directory. This is one feature that I really look forward to having in the native app!

i cant wait to see how the brilliant drop box minds incorporate the accelerometers in this app.

I agree ... This is a fantastic service, with the addition of a native iPhone app in the app store this would be the best service of it's kind (it's pretty much there already :o) ).
Some Feature Requests:
1.) The ability to view files of all sorts of extensions would be pretty important.
2.) Ability to use dropbox on iPhone without connectivity. For example, you could transfer a file from your pc to the iPhone (or touch) and then sync next time the iPhone has service. The transfer from PC -> iPhone could be done via a URL like airshare.
3.) If you could add Evernotes OCR for images, that would be the best ... I understand that this is pretty much a pipe dream, I'm guessing the infrastructure needed in place is substantial and would require many changes on dropbox's side.
4.) If drop box could somehow integrate with other webapps and provide a portal to those it would be great. For instance google docs.Obviously some of those ideas are either wishful, or needs some fleshing out, however their just off the top of my head.
Great work dropbox, keep it up!

+1 for iPhone app! That would make dropbox the perfect file storage/sync solution! Keep up the good work, guys!

+1 on an native app for the iPhone …
Please make it so it has a viewer !
Posted 1 year ago # -
+1 !!!!!!!!!!
Posted 1 year ago # -
I'd love to have one too. Viewer included please. :) (The ability to e-mail public links would be amazing too)

Did you guys see that Evernote has added file syncing? You have to buy into the premium to get access to it though.
I hope you guys come out with the app soon.
+1 from me.

Add a +1 from me to the pile. While I don't own an iPhone (yet) it sounds like a great idea for the people who do have an iPhone, and for when I get one. (If ever... ;) )
