Hi all! How's it goin'? Long time no speak!

If you are on Snow Leopard, context menus, the toolbar, and icon overlays should be working now. If you experience bugs, please let us know (we're aware of a couple and are working on them.)

If you have any finder crashes, please send the crash reports to mike@getdropbox.com. Crash reports can be found in the ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter folder (anything that starts with Finder and ends with .crash). We're trying to get any issues resolved quickly so the Dropbox finder integration works for people when Snow Leopard comes out (we will be adding back the Snow Leopard plugin to the stable build :). As always, post any other issues you having as well.

To trigger the loading of the new Finder integration, force quit the Finder and restart Dropbox. Alternatively, reboot your computer.

    0.7.8
    - Fixed minor issues with Snow Leopard toolbar button
    - Improved startup time for Dropbox with many peers on LAN
    - Other minor fixes

    0.7.7:
    - Those experiencing crashes in Tiger and Leopard when clicking the new Dropbox Finder toolbar button should now not have crashes
    - Fixes to lansync - be sure to upgrade if you want to help us improve lansync!

    0.7.5:
    - Initial implementation of Snow Leopard support is complete
    - More fixes to the p2p code
    - Other stability fixes

    Windows: http://dl-web.getdropbox.com/u/17/Dropbox%200.7.24.exe
    Mac OS X: http://dl-web.getdropbox.com/u/17/Dropbox%200.7.24.dmg
    Linux x86_64: http://dl-web.getdropbox.com/u/17/dropbox-lnx.x86_64-0.7.24.tar.gz
    Linux x86: http://dl-web.getdropbox.com/u/17/dropbox-lnx.x86-0.7.24.tar.gz

if it's important that your dropbox is stable/reliable, we recommend running the release candidate build: http://forums.getdropbox.com/topic.php?id=11238&replies=39

I'm not seeing icon overlays or the toolbar item on Snow Leopard (10A432). I've tried relaunching Finder.

Restarting Finder, restarting Dropbox (which seems to restart Finder while initializing too), nothing helps - still no overlays/toolbar item.

gotcha - do you happen to have non-ascii characters in your user name/your path to the applications folder?

Nope, /Users/jaka/Dropbox and /Applications. But I do use FileVault, if it makes a difference.

    Great work!

I really like that Dropbox is constantly under active development (unlike many other software).

    Finder crash:
    - Restart finder
    - Launch dropbox
    - Go into a folder (in my case it was a symlinked folder). Enter the folder (now i'm in the actual location of this folder which is no longer under the Dropbox root). Click on the dropbox Finder button and the Finder will crash and restart.
    - Going to any folder after that no longer has the overlays or the Dropbox button

Will the Experimental builds auto-update on our Macs currently? Or do we have to manually update 0.7.4 to 0.7.5 (to 0.7.6, etc)?

    Thanks!

I'm still getting the MS Word 07 bug. Open a document saved in Dropbox, edit it, leave it open long enough, hit the save button, Word shows a Save As dialog (because the document became read only).

Overlays are visible on dropbox folders but individual files within the folders no longer display sync-status icon overlays.

My system: Macbook Pro, 2.93 GHz Core 2 Duo, 4 GB RAM, OSX 10.5.8,

    @Arash F.
I just rebooted and in fact now the Dropbox default folders (Photos and Public) no longer display the sync status overlays. The files within those folders also do not have the overlays. As mentioned I am running OSX Leopard 10.5.8 -- not Snow Leopard. However, I have tried to upload and sync files and those functions do seem to work. It's only the overlays that have gone missing.

Installed in XP SP3 and then tried to run Dropbox but won't come up in the System Tray. I'm going back to 0.7.4

Had no problem installing in Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic)

I had to reboot in XP to get Dropbox to work. 0.7.3 and 0.7.4 it just worked without a reboot.

Worked great. Had to close dropbox, relaunch finder, open dropbox. Everything is up to par!

    Thanks Dropbox team!

Works great for me. LAN sync just synced my MP3 collection within minutes to my laptop.
In contrast to many reports: Word 2007 is working fine and has no problem editing a document within my Dropbox (Windows 7 x86 release version).

Great build, but the word bug (described by Antoine L.) is really annoying.

    Jaka,
If your finder is crashing, crash reports can be found in the ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter folder (anything that starts with Finder and ends with .crash). Send any of these files to me and I should be able to troubleshoot you!

I'm running a slightly older build (10A421a) of Snow Leopard (not the GM) and am not seeing the menu items or overlays. This may be a result of the older build but just thought I'd let you know.

Let me know if you need logs or anything.

Isn't there a way to make Dropbox even the forum (beta versions) "autoupdateable"?

Maybe by putting a special keyfile into the install dir (simmilar as digsby does)
I like your work and putting so many and timely updates but I'm not able to follow fast enough with the install to your publish's.

Also, please add desktop shortcut for all users, not only for current (or add this option to installer via gui or command line, like /allusers).
